9 on the left hand when he is working, I do not behold him;
he turns to the right hand, but I do not see him.

1 Why, O Lord, do you stand ^afar away?
Why ^bdo you hide yourself in ^ctimes of trouble?

14 O Lord, why ^ddo you cast my soul away?
Why ^edo you hide your face from me?

17 I will ^fwait for the Lord, who is ^ghiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.

15 ^hTruly, you are a God who hides himself,
O God of Israel, the Savior.

15 ⁱI will return again to my place,
until they acknowledge their guilt and seek my face,
and ^jin their distress earnestly seek me.
